Commission FAQ's / Terms

  1. How does Flying Solo define 'referral'?
Referring people to Flying Solo is the act of promoting people you know to join the network. People can join Flying Solo in two capacities: 1) As a Free Member 2) As an Upgraded Member. When referring people to Flying Solo, your goal should be to espouse the advantages to becoming an upgraded member. Doing so will allow you to earn a percentage of their monthly subscription fees for as long as both you and the referred member remain members.

  2. How long does it take to get started?
As soon as you become an upgraded member of Flying Solo you are able to begin earning commissions on everyone you refer to the network. Once an upgraded member you should consider inviting everyone you know to Flying Solo. The best way for most people to promote Flying Solo is to send an email out to their friends and colleagues. Within the email you will want to include your custom 'Referral Link'.

  3. What is a 'Referral Link'?
The Referral Link is a custom link that we provide you which tracks all of the people you refer to Flying Solo. Most people add their referral link to their website, blog and more. Also, for more advanced users you can embed the link into images. Flying Solo can also provide you with a referral button (image) that you can also place on your website, blog, etc... When people click on your custom referral link, they are directed to the Flying Solo sign-up page. Your ID# is embedded within the sign-up page, which gives us (and you) the ability to track every single person who creates a profile as a result of your referral. Your Referral Link can be found by clicking on the 'Start' tab.

  4. What happens if someone does not use my Referral Link?
When creating their profile, Flying Solo will ask them 'Who Referred You?'. More than likely, if you were the person who referred them to Flying Solo, they will type in your name. On a weekly basis, our web team eyeballs all of the names that are typed into the 'referred by' fields and manually adds them to your account.

  5. Can I view reports to see how many referrals I have made? More importantly, can I see who has upgraded?
Yes! At any time you can login to your account and click on 'Statistics'. Within your statistics you can view everyone who has both created a profile AND become a paid member.

  6. How do Commissions work? What percentage of each referral can I expect to receive?
As a Silver Member you earn 25% of all of the monthly subscriptions generated by your referrals for as long as BOTH you and your referrals remain members. As a Gold Member you earn 50% of all of the monthly subscriptions generated by your referrals for as long as BOTH you and your referrals remain members.

  7. How often can I expect to get paid?
Quarterly. Commissions are totaled each quarter and paid approximately 1 month after the quarter has ended. For example, commissions for Quarter 1 (January 1st - March 31st) will most likely be paid near the end of April. Commissions are currently paid out by check and PayPal. Beginning in March 2008, commissions will be paid out by PayPal ONLY. If you do not have a PayPal account, a 10% processing fee will be deducted from your commission checks.

  8. What happens if I downgrade my membership back to Basic (Free)?
Unfortunately, you will lose all of your current paid referrals. Along those lines, if your credit card becomes delinquent on our end, we will place your commissions ON HOLD until the issue is resolved. We will notify you if an issue arises with your credit card... ultimately however, it is up to you to keep your account current.

  9. What happens if one of my referrals cancels his/her account?
You will obviously not receive commission for that person. We run reports on the last day of each quarter. Your commissions will be based on everyone who is a subscriber on that day. Similar to those who cancel, we will FLAG all members whose credit cards are having issues. People whose credit cards are being declined will not be included in your end of quarter report. Note: we will be making every attempt to make them aware of the issuse through email, phone calls and alerts on their login page.

  10. What if I am also a member of Fast Pitch! - Do I also receive commissions for referrals to Fast Pitch!?
Unfortunately no - unless you are a Titanium Member. Fast Pitch! was not designed as an affiliate platform.
